A true woods works clock could be 1800, may be as late as 1820.  The plates are probably oak.  The gears were cut from a cylinder of wood after the teeth had been cut along the entire length.

On the reverse of the dial, there are several repair/service dates.  1865, Feb3. J. T. Coffee Jr.  1931 May 27 – 31.  E. B. Foster.  1939, Feb 25.  Mr. & Mrs. J. W. Depp.  1967, Nov. Donald K. Hughes, PHX Ariz bought from J.T. Coffee JR.   1968, Donald Hughes adj and lube.  (my note: hopefully not the bushings).  2024, Nov. serviced by Kristin W. and Philip C. of Fort Collins Co.
