1750 “Chinese” English Tall Case Clock. $2,600
I believe that this is a true one-of-a-kind clock. It is by a London maker. He probably had a walk-in who explained that he had a room full of Chinese furniture with a similar appearance and commissioned this clock! It is of a high quality. The spandrels (brass corners) are amazing.
The numbers from 5 to 60 around the dial/face of the clock date back to before 1800 when the minute hand was introduces and people were learning to tell time in a more accurate way! The brass dial and quality put 1750 as the production date. It has a silent/strike pointer. A date ring and a second hand.
Ht 88”, width 19”, depth 11”
