1850, Early Brass Works American Clock – SOLD
This 1850 brass dial clock was made in the USA immediately after the “wood works” period. It has a one day movement with an extremely rare style. Notice the high winding holes. Yes, this is all original. It is weight driven, they are on the left and right in the 4th picture.
I have recently oiled it. It strikes the hours on a gong. It is in great working order and has a mirror in the door. (In the photo, you see the reflection!) There is glare on the upper door and so look at the dial in the next few pictures when the door is open.
From a pet free and smoke free house!
Height 33″, Width 18″, Depth 5″, Dial 9″ diameter
I am also a clock repairer. I have 30 years experience with all types of clocks including cuckoo and anniversary clocks.
This clock has been oiled. After my overhaul the clock is good to go, it needs oiling every 8 to 10 years. In fact this is a good statement for all my clocks.
