This English antique Grand father (tall case) clock is an early example of the first white dial clocks.  The top arch is painted and there are very simple flower paintings in the corners.  The dial shows the minutes in 5’s and there are seconds and date ring..  The dial is marked “T. Dobson, Beeston”.  Beeston is very near Nottingham, Nottinghamshire in England.  It is made of oak and mahogany with swan neck pediments, turned pillars, bracket feet and reeded quarter pillar corners. It has black non-matching steel hands of the period and painted dial.  It is weight driven using two cast iron weights and strikes the hours on a bell.   GRO
